Maddie is a senior at Susquehannock High School and started her performing arts journey just last year. Before then, her focus was basketball starting at the age of 5 and playing through her freshman year. After discovering her passion for theater, she began taking vocal lessons at EMC in March of 2021. She has been in both musical productions of Annie Jr. and Aladdin Jr. at EMC. At school, Maddie participated in both band and choir and is looking forward to joining her school’s theater program. Carma has been in the education and music industries for over 20 years.

Born in Springfield Delco, composer Megan Cavallari has worked to become a powerhouse of creativity and vivid musical storytelling. She has created original scores and songs for over 50 films and television shows while also having 14 professionally produced musicals under her belt. In her colorful career, she has worked with industry heavy hitters including HBO, ABC, Nickelodeon, Disney, Fox, Sony, and more as well as the LA Kings and Hershey Bears ice hockey teams.

Although fascinated with bluegrass music from his earliest years, Hoyle was trained in more traditional music on piano and trumpet. A shy child with a good singing voice, Jerry was a reluctant though popular soloist while very young. As his voice matured, he was encouraged to use it in the ministry. Following graduation from Mount Pisgah Academy in 1962, he enrolled as a theology major at SMC.
Originally from Indianapolis, in, Miss Pritz holds degrees from the Eastman School of Music (B.M. ’07) and the University of Maryland (M.M. ’13). Her primary teachers include Robert DiLutis, Reis McCullough, Jon Manasse and Ken Grant. Miss Pritz enjoys playing indoor soccer in her local rec league, and visited Uganda earlier this year on an 11-day mission trip with her church to do humanitarian work with children. Currently Robert Durie is instructor of clarinet at the Jim Henson Center for Visual & Performing Arts Academy at Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. Robert has attended the National Music Festival for the 2015 & 2016 Seasons, the Miami Summer Music Festival in 2015, and in 2014 he participated in Chautauqua Institution’s Music School Festival Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Timothy Muffitt.
After graduating he formed the funk/punk/prog-rock/pop band The Running Gags, playing guitar and bass and singing lead. He also loves rap and hip-hop, creating samples and producing beats. In more recent years, he had the amazing experience of writing songs for two television series.
With ÂWait, Arlie make good on the potential exhibited on their early singles. Lead single Âbarcelona boots is a swirl of washed-out synths and Banks yearning falsetto, while Âtoo long is a sighing ballad underpinned with psychedelic atmospherics. On the EP's closer -- the tropical, hazy Âtossing and turning -- Arlie turns a self-deprecating eye on a superficial generation so fixated on projecting a lifestyle that they miss out on living the actual life.
He finds the intersection between differing genres of music, often using guitar pedals to create vast soundscapes. Katie Macyshyn (she/they) is a performance artist and experiential art practitioner serving collaborative new media art. Her mixed media practice spans wearables, installation, sound, and video. They are also an art instructor and songstress who specializes in the therapeutic benefits of creative play in early childhood. Jan and her husband Jonathan left Takoma Park to build a house and studio in Berkeley Springs where Jan has been making prints ever since.
While our research areas are quite diverse, the primary themes tend toward musical expression and development, processes of music learning and teaching, deeper understanding of past musical practices, and global perspectives. Courses include playing in large or small-group combos, instrumental or vocal jazz performance, and jazz arranging or pedagogy. The Bachelor of Musical Arts explores each student’s passion for music while offering endless cross-disciplinary opportunities to create a unique degree that prepares graduates for a professional career. Providing outstanding education and performance opportunities to both majors and non-majors and enriching the campus and local communities through an extensive schedule of public recitals and concerts.
School of Rock Silver Spring's Adult Program is for students over 18 years old who are looking to either improve their musical proficiency or pick up an instrument with no prior musical experience. As with most School of Rock music programs, the Adult Program uses a performance-based music education approach. This means the curriculum focuses on learning music concepts and applying them in a live performance setting.
Her happy place is floating in her pool in the summer months, listening to Frank Sinatra and running her business from the deck. Robin resides on 8 acres of country land with her husband, her mother and four cats. Robin’s young adult sons, Nick, Alex and Brendan are never far from home and there is always home cooked dinner and lively conversation The Music Dept Recording Studio in the kitchen. Today, EMC Performing Arts Studio provides Dance, Music, Theater and AcroGymnastics classes to nearly 1000 enrollments in New Freedom, PA. She has a true passion for working with her students helping them build a strong basis of technique, finding their creativity and exploring the endless possibilities that dancing provides.

Originally from San Antonio, Texas, Tessa made her way back to Texas to teach band to young students. Tessa is currently a band director with the Pearland Junior High East Band Program in Pearland, Texas . She directs the Non-Varsity Symphonic Band and teaches the Alexander Middle School beginner clarinet and saxophone classes. Nathan Dorseyof Bowie, Maryland was clarinet performance and music education major studying under Robert DiLutis. Nathan began his musical instruction four years ago under Master Sergeant Frederick Vare of the United States Marine Band. Nathan attended high school at St. John’s College High School in Washington, D.C. While there, he was active in their string and choral programs, and served as principal clarinetist in the SJC wind ensemble, SJC orchestra, and SJC regimental band.
