China Bar Burwood Melbourne, reviews and menu

Such as the durian ice cream and chocolate fountain. I especially loved their chicken rice and dumplings.  For food that has to be constantly cooked for many and is served in a buffet this is definitely on my list. I could say that it is more self serve as most buffets. However this is a great establishment for its price. To be honest, this was probably my favourite section.
Flavours were nice but I would have preferred the Hainanese Chicken served at Burwood. I would rather go to those 2 over china bar, even if they are double the price. However, service absolutely colourful yunnan burwood menu sucks in buffets over there even with tipping up front at buffets. Service at Melba and Conservatory is much better since they're not ridiculously understaffed unlike Bacchanal or others.

There was quite a lot on offer that we didn’t try, such as siu mai and spring rolls and peanut balls, but I was given positive feedback on all of them. Oh and, fair warning, the lighting was pretty dim at our table so photos aren’t top notch. Teaming up with my sister, we made a mighty good attempt at covering everything on offer. We skipped past the salad bar , which had enough on offer to rustle up any light meal of your choosing. Standing proudly on the corner of Little Bourke Street and Exhibition Street, this newest member of the China Bar family had us all wondering how it compared to the one in Burwood. Conservatory is indeed lovely, I do prefer the food at Melba though and would probably pay the extra to eat there for that reason.
I would rather take my business to the Melba restaurant than the superficial China Bar. There isn’t a huge selection of sushi available because it’s lunch time, just your generic salmon rolls and a couple more. At dinner this area becomes much more exciting, because not only do things like scallop sushi get added to the selection, but this is also where they slice up the fresh sashimi. The fruits are seasonal, with apples, watermelon, oranges, and nectarines on offer. Very nice variety, many dishes to choose from, the buffet was colourful and vibrant. My favourite was a sashimi platter with raw salmon and the Hainan chicken dish was delicious.
It has multiple CBD locations, and operates in shopping centres. It was founded in 1996, with its flagship store operating on the corner of Russell Street and Lonsdale Street. It has 29 restaurants under 6 brands offering different types of Asian cuisine.

Aside from being slightly gluggy from sitting out, these small translucent parcels held large, juicy prawns that are just as good as any off a yum cha trolley. Anyone know if they have seafood and oysters for lunch? We bought this deal last time, twice, after the first time you'll be over it.
China Bar Signature Burwood East prides itself on offering high-quality food prepared by skilled chefs. The buffet features a wide variety of dishes, including both traditional and contemporary Asian flavors. Guests can enjoy a range of options, from sushi and dim sum to stir-fries and noodle dishes, ensuring there is something for everyone.

Great for the colder days when you need a bit of chilli for the chilly weather. Besides its catering wing, the team has also successfully collaborated with a number of charitable organisations and has actively participated in many major events in Melbourne. I have no financial interest or association with the above establishment. Your comments are integral in identifying and awarding quality establishments.
The chain's franchises have been involved in multiple newsworthy events. In 2015, its flagship CBD locations burned down causing $250,000 in damage and causing the neighbouring restaurant Stalactites to close. In 2021, the Epping Pty Ltd chain was fined ~$300,000 for underpaying its migrant workers and falsifying records.

So you don't understand buffets with nicer environment and service, doesn't mean everyone who goes to them doesn't care about how they're treated. Complaining specifically about service in a buffet setting is like complaining that KFC should serve more healthy foods while providing a better dinning atmosphere for eat ins with plates and solid cutlery. China bar's target market is probably just those who care about quantity and not service. Two and a half hours later, we rolled out of the door, filled to bursting. But watch out – if you visit on weekends and Friday night, you’ll only have one hour and a half hours to have all you can eat. And given the variety of food on offer, that’s probably nowhere near enough time.
