Whether it be foreclosure, homelessness, job loss, illness, domestic violence or any other hardship, we are there to serve pets and pet parents in the Valley who don’t know where to turn. For many pet owners with few resources, the only other option is surrendering their pet to overcrowded shelters where they face an uncertain future, and even death. Lost our Home is committed to helping pets and people and ensuring that our pets face a different future—a certain future that’s website fulfilling, happy, healthy, and with a loving family. “Impounded” means taken into the custody of the public animal shelter or animal control department or provider of animal control services to the city or county where the potentially dangerous or vicious dog is found. No city or county, society for the prevention of cruelty to animals, or humane society is subject to any civil action by the owner of a dog that is spayed or neutered in accordance with this section.
Having no one to care for a precious pet when unexpected medical emergencies, surgeries or illness force people and their pets apart, can leave many uncertain of how to not only care for themselves, but for their pet as well. We offer cat and dog adoptions in a shelter free, foster based environment. We do not receive public funding and rely on our adoption fees and donations to save as many animals as we can. SPARC is a unique partnership between public and private resources with a shared goal of creating a more humane, no-kill system for saving the homeless and abandoned animals of our community.
💓We provide supplies and all medical care for foster parents. However, you are welcome to purchase your own supplies to prevent depletion of our stock. We’ll provide you with an adoption contract to protect the transfer of your dog’s ownership.
You’re also making space for other pets to find families of their own. By adopting, you are part of a historic change in how our country regards pets in shelters and you’re helping to Save Them All. If you choose to correspond with us through email, we may retain the content of your email messages together with your email address and our responses. We provide the same protections for these electronic communications that we employ in the maintenance of information received by mail and telephone.
Volunteers help us by working at adoption events, photographing animals in our program, socializing animals in our program, grooming animals, and even medicating or exercising our animals. Cages, kennels, or other enclosures should be large enough for the dog to sit, stand, stretch, turn around, and move its head without touching the top of the enclosure. Ideally, the kennel should provide ample breathing room, allow the dog to take several steps freely, and include a separate partition or area for it to eliminate. Other items like a bed and elevated food and water dishes also help. If you are willing to take the animal, have the owner fill out a surrender form to relinquish ownership of the animal. Be sure the owner understands they are giving up their ownership rights and cannot take the animal back.
If the public or private shelter has made the dog available for owner redemption on one weekday evening until at least 7 p.m. Or one weekend day, the holding period shall be four business days, not including the day of impoundment. No action, civil or criminal, shall be maintained against the owner, tenant, or employee for the seizure or killing of any such dog. All applications that have been endorsed shall be kept on file in the office of the animal control department open to public inspection.
The animal control department shall endorse upon the application for a dog license tag the number of the license tag issued. She also volunteered as a Sea Otter care giver at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. She began her career at the SPCA as an Animal Care Technician and eventually became the Lead Foster and Transfer Coordinator. If you have lost a pet it is recommended that you visit the Corona Animal Shelter in person. Stray animals without identification are held for six business days, not including the day of impoundment. Animals with known owner identification are held for 10 business days not including the day of impoundment. To reclaim your pet you must have identification and be at least 18 years old. Bring your pet's records including dog license, rabies vaccination or AKC registration certificates as proof of ownership.
