Visitors from Scotland are often surprised to learn that Taiwan produces excellent whiskeys, including a few that have won international awards at whiskey-tasting competitions. So a bottle of Taiwanese whiskey is something that anyone who enjoys the hard stuff will appreciate. Taiwan’s Kaoliang Wine is a drink generally more appreciated by husbands over their wives. We recommend you pick up a bottle of Kinmen 58% Kaoliang Wine at any liquor store, or at the airport on the way out. You have selected a number of travellers greater than 20.
Their egg tart and cream puff taste quite good thou. Great place to look at the coast and the pacific ocean. They've got all sorts of interesting looking rocks as a 鐵花村伴手禮 result of erosion over the years. They also have a few high points to view the coast. There's also a few stores selling souvenirs, ice cream and some other stuff.

Railway art village is well connected to public transportation and there are parking spots for bicycles and scooters. Art village has dedicated streets for shopping such as jewelry, food, cosmetics, and live performances. Art village has a rich history for the Japanese era railway where you can relax and see the old wagon, platforms with few lengths of railway lines, and storage warehouse. Art village is situated just behind Taitung bus stand and it has a restroom near to the village art. But need to take care sometimes you can see drunk homeless people. It's so sad but the government needs to take care of them.
The art installation can be entered via an elevated walkway. If have more time in Taitung city, the city’s hippest attraction is Railway Art Village (鐵道藝術村, often abbreviated to 鐵化村 or Tiehua Village / tiehua cun). This is Taitung’s answer to Huashan Creative Park in Taipei, Cultural Heritage Park in Taichung, and Pier 2 Arts Center in Kaohsiung. The Beinan site has produced several artifacts linking Taiwan’s ancient peoples to the Austronesian cultures found throughout the South Pacific, from Madagascar to Hawaii. Most impressive among the artifacts found here are 200+ stone burial coffins. The site has even been proposed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site (Taiwan doesn’t have any yet).
So if you’re looking to support local talent and bring home a truly special souvenir, be sure to pay a visit to “Local Treasures”. One store that comes highly recommended is “Ocean Park Manila Souvenir Shop”. This store offers a wide range of products, from traditional Filipino crafts to modern and trendy souvenirs. Whether you’re looking for a keychain, a t-shirt, or a piece of handmade jewelry, you’re sure to find something that catches your eye in this store.
Cheng-Ping (see on Booking / Agoda / TripAdvisor) is an excellent choice for an overnight stay. The National Forest Recreation Area didn’t impress us when I visited with my family many years ago, but we made up for it by riding some local wildlife . Green Island is easily one of my favorite places in Taiwan. It’s small enough that you can ride a scooter all the way around it in 1-2 hours, but with all the beaches and breathtaking lookout points you could easily spend a whole day doing it.
Icelandic fashion, at least from my walk through of some local shops, definitely has a unique spin. You’ll find much wool and easy to wear boho styles. I saw lots of capes and hats, the perfect thing to roam the streets of Reykjavík while battling the gusty winds. With favorites like Solo Studio Taitung, Deep Coffee, and Café Rebecca and more, get ready to experience the best flavors around Taitung City.
It includes both Chishang cycling and Luye Highland. Around Daren (達仁), Highway 9 and the train line cross quickly over to the west coast of Taiwan. Taitung National Museum of Prehistory (國立臺灣史前文化博物館) is pretty good, but it’s a ways west of town by Taitung Airport.
A local famous shop with delicious mochi , flavored peanut, sesame, red bean, green bean, black bean, etc. Everytime we travel to Hualien we sure will bought the Hualien Zeng's mochi, but this Taitung Chen's mochi are more tastiest then Zeng's. Corner of the shop also sell some gift pack such as Roselle syrup, aborigines rice wine, fish floss, souvenir, etc. And I recommend the roselle concentrated cyrup and mocha MUST BUY.
These culinary souvenirs not only make for delicious treats but also serve as reminders of the rich gastronomic heritage and local flavors that define Taitung City. Taitung, located in southeastern Taiwan, is known for its vibrant indigenous culture which is prominently showcased in the handicrafts and artworks found in the region. One of the most iconic indigenous handicrafts in Taitung is the traditional weaving of the Paiwan tribe. The Paiwan people are skilled weavers who create intricate and colorful textiles using traditional looms and techniques passed down through generations. These beautiful woven fabrics often feature geometric patterns and symbolic motifs that hold deep cultural significance. In Taitung, visitors can find a unique array of handmade items crafted from local materials such as wood and bamboo.
This 21 km path is also known as Taitung Shanhai trail, which means mountain and ocean trail as mesmerising scenery of mountains and the sea unfold during the ride. There are many other cycling trails like the scenic Chishang trail and challenging routes on Green and Orchid islands for those looking for a challenge. A charming township great for a half day trip, Chishang has gained great popularity due to its Mr Brown Avenue (伯朗大道). Chishang’s romantic scenery with blue skies and vast green fields in the embrace of the East Rift Valley attract tourists who flock to the town on weekdays and summer holidays. Chishang is best explored leisurely with wheels and cute and efficient electric bikes are available for hourly rental.
These souvenirs not only showcase the skilled craftsmanship of the local artisans but also embody the connection to the land and the preservation of cultural heritage. Taitung Township is renowned for its delicious and unique local snacks and food items that make for perfect gifts to bring back home. One of the must-buy items is the traditional Black Sugar Cake, which is a popular delicacy made from glutinous rice flour and black sugar. These cakes are usually filled with red bean paste or peanuts, offering a delightful blend of sweet and savory flavors. Another favorite snack is the Taitung Rice Pudding, a creamy and flavorful dessert made from glutinous rice, sugar, and coconut milk. It is a beloved treat among locals and visitors alike.
